This is the van that kicked off this website back in 2015, when I aquired this VW T4 Transporter from a garage in Cornwall.
It had been insulated and carpet lined but was otherwise a blank canvas. The collection of videos above follows some of the modifications and changes I made to the van to make it into a campervan. Below you will find further VW T4 articles and photos that I wrote for this website at the time.
After the VW T4, I moved onto the Talbot Express motorhome
I recently had to change a tie rod end on the steering rack of the van. I also took the opportunity to change the steering rack gaiter as well as both of these jobs needed doing for the upcoming MOT. The replacement of the tie rod end is pretty straight forward, I just had to loosen a locking nut that…
Bank holiday Monday saw the ball joints being replaced on my van, a job that was long overdue. The passenger side had been squeaking and knocking for a month or 2, and with the MOT coming up in July, it was time to get them changed on both sides of the van. I had read that changing both the top…
I have been meaning to get some 12 volt LED down lights for the back of the van for some time now, but have never got round to it. But recently, Martin from the Houseless not Homeless YouTube channel posted a link on one of my videos, directing me to some LED lights for sale at Maplins for £20. So…
I decided to order a cab curtain from Van-X online, as I needed a way to stop prying eyes into the back of the van when parked up at night. The curtain is part of Van-X’s eco range – so it is not fully black out, but it does cut most of the light, and is perfect for what I…
I have just installed a dual USB charging point into the back of my T4 Transporter. These ports are becoming very popular as most electronic devices are charged via USB these days, so it makes sense to have a charging point in your car or van. As I am always out and about with the my phone and GoPro camera,…
On one of my previous videos where I showed you the rear storage in my T4 Transporter van, you will notice that the bouldering mats are stored on the floor. Now having used the van over the past few weeks, it dawned on me that there is a lot of wasted space above the bouldering mats. So I have now…
For some time now the van engine has been making a “clicking” noise, and as the revs rose, so did the speed of the clicking. To me it sounded like it was coming from the top of the engine, so I assumed a sticky tappet. But upon further research it turns out that it is quite common for the brake…
Ok, first up, I cheated! Yes I know I should have collected the stickers and added them over the course of time, but instead I bought a pre-printed vinyl sheet from eBay and “sticker bombed” my interior the lazy way. Having said that, it has come out great, and added a nice bit of colour to the otherwise dull grey/black…
